In Kyrgyzstan, CAPACITY provided technical support as part of the organization committee, which was specially formed to coordinate WAD activities in the country. Mass procession under the motto "Kyrgyzstan is against AIDS! ” took place in Bishkek on December 1, 2008. The procession was organized by the "Partnership network” Association, the "Youth Power” Center and the Union of PLH of Kyrgyzstan. The main purpose of the procession was to attract pubic attention to the problems of HIV/AIDS and drug abuse. Students of higher and secondary education institutions and vocational schools as well as AIDS-service organizations took part in the procession. Four columns of people marched on central streets of Bishkek and gathered together on the central square of the city, where the balloons in the form of a red tape – the symbol of fighting against AIDS- were launched to the sky. During this action informational and educational materials about HIV/AIDS prevention were disseminated among the participants of the procession. The cycle of short films "Letters of the people living with HIV” was displayed on December 1, 2008 at the Cinema House. The screen show was organized by the Children Media Center and the Central Asia AIDS Control Project. The informational support was provided by CAPACITY. Within the framework of this event five 20-minute movies of young stage producers from Kyrgyzstan were shown in the genre of feature-documentary film. In conclusion, a video- clip aimed to reduce stigma and discrimination was shown, which was made within TUMAR Project with CAPACITY technical support.
