Uzbekistan. Monitoring of realization of National Strategic Program on HIV

In September 2008 CAPACITY/USAID provided technical assistance to Secretariat of Country Coordination Committee (CCC) in conducting the monitoring of Strategic Program (SP) implementation in Samarkand, Khorezm, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya oblasts and Republic of Karakalpakstan.

During the visits, series of working meetings with the representatives of regional government authorities, regional health departments, AIDS Centers, regional infectious diseases hospitals, Sanitary Epidemiological Services, and Trust Points were conducted in the regions.

Within the frame of visits, a one-day seminar on discussion of the results of SP multisectoral plans implementation was conducted.

In October 2008 the final monitoring visits in Tashkent and Tashkent oblast are planned. The results of monitoring of SP implementation on regional levels will be submitted to the CCC for consideration.
