Kazakhstan. Situation analysis in the area of HIV counseling and testing in medical and public organizations of Almaty

On September 15–19 CAPACITY jointly with hired consultants and Almaty city AIDS Center conducted more than 15 meetings with representatives of organizations where VCT services are provided including: AIDS Center, policlinics, maternity hospital, pre-natal clinics, clinical hospitals, TB dispensary, trust points and public organizations. The goal of these meetings was to conduct a survey to identify existing problems related to provision of VCT services. On 18 September CAPACITY conducted an orientation meeting with all organizations involved in situation analysis and discussed possible activities to improve the current situation. It is anticipated that the consultants will provide a report and recommendations to overcome existing problems and improve the quality of VCT services.
