Turkmenistan. CAPACITY close-out conference in Ashgabad.

July 30, 2009, Ashgabat – The CAPACITY Project held a close-out conference. The participants were representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, regional CAPACITY Head office, USAID in Turkmenistan, non-governmental and international organizations. After the welcoming speech, the representatives of partner organizations made presentations on the major achievements due to the partnership of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the CAPACITY Project. Also presented were the results from the Youth Centers, joint cooperation of the Union of Women of Turkmenistan named after the Hero of Turkmenistan Gurbansoltan-eje and the CAPACITY Project, prevention methods used at the IDU drop-In center, and an overview of CAPACITY’s work in Turkmenistan. During the coffee-break, the participants had the opportunity to see the exhibition devoted to the CAPACITY Project activities in Turkmenistan. The conference participants have highly praised and appreciated the work done by the CAPACITY Project in Turkmenistan on prevention of HIV/AIDS/STI and drug use among vulnerable population and underlined that despite having only a short timeframe of about two years, the CAPACITY Project has succeeded in implementing a huge amount of work, which is very valuable and effective. At the end of the conference all the participants wished the further prosperity and success to the CAPACITY Project staff and their partners.
