Improving Resource Use through the Integration of HIV/AIDS Services

During the period of the CAPACITY Project implementation in Uzbekistan, the activities on the Strategy 4 have not been implemented. One of the major reasons is that the HIV epidemic in UZ is still in the concentrated phase and broad involvement of the primary health care system in the HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support may not be of a reasonably justified cost benefit, and therefore the Project had concentrated on the first three strategies. At the same time the introduction of the ARVT and HIV/TB cooperation have certain initial elements of the integration.
